Wireless Access to All Exchange
Groupware Functions
The Infinite Connector for Microsoft
Exchange is a server-based application that integrates seamlessly with
Microsoft Exchange, providing access to all of the groupware functionality
that was traditionally limited to the desktop. Remote wireless users connect
through their wireless service provider (or internal WAP gateway where
applicable) to the Infinite Mobile Delivery Server for native access to their
inbox, eliminating the synchronization problems and security risks of
forwarding mail to separate accounts that are inherent to other solutions. SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer
Security) protocols are used
to ensure secure access.

Messaging
The Infinite Connector for Microsoft Exchange acts as
an e-mail client proxy on behalf of the wireless user, providing the user with
a view into their mailbox that is optimized for the small displays and
bandwidth constraints of wireless environments. Through this proxy, the user
interacts directly with their mailbox, performing all of the standard actions
such as reading, replying to, forwarding, and deleting messages. All actions
are carried out real time, with updates recorded immediately in the user's
mailbox. If the underlying mail system tracks deleted messages in a deleted
folder, then messages deleted from the wireless device are also moved into
this folder. Similarly, if a "sent messages" folder exists, outbound
messages from the wireless device are logged in the appropriate folder. This
attention to detail, together with support for a wide range of messaging
systems, distinguishes The Infinite Connector for Microsoft Exchange from
other solutions.
