Frequently Asked
Questions About WebScheduler

Q: What is WebScheduler?
A:
WebScheduler is a calendaring
and scheduling client based on open Internet and industry standards (Internet
Engineering Task Force RFC-2445). Designed to operate
either standalone or to integrate with Infinite
InterChange and WebMail, you can instantly switch between mail and scheduling
for unparalleled ease of use.
Q: What is the key
distinguishing feature that makes this product stand out?
A: WebScheduler
is a robust scheduling client that operates without the need for complicated,
proprietary, and usually expensive server requirements. It allows ordinary
users to exercise extraordinary productivity ability with a minimal amount of
hardware, software, and training.
Q: How does this product
advance the state of unified messaging?
A:
Using e-mail as the transport medium for
calendar and scheduling information allows a well defined and proven reliable
method of delivery. Scheduling appointments, meetings, and other activities
with other users allows a new level of coordination and cooperation. Having
these messages delivered to the appropriate user through a media (e-mail) that
is already familiar certainly allows a feeling continuity to exist.
Q: Would I want to use
WebScheduler instead of my local scheduling program? If so, why?
A: Yes.
Although a "local" scheduling program may offer some convenience for
individuals, group productivity goals cannot be realized by using a
disconnected client which cannot be used as an "authoritative"
representation of a user's time commitments. Without this authoritative
calendar store, group coordination becomes impractical if not impossible.
Q: How does using
WebScheduler differ from something like the scheduling in Outlook?
A: Outlook
is a disconnected scheduler if not used with an Exchange Server, along with
all of its complications, administrative issues, and other disadvantages.
Q: Will WebScheduler save
my company money?
A:
WebScheduler does not require any server software, hardware, or other
infrastructure other than the mail server and the shared directory area.
Additionally, some "soft" savings will be realized with improved
productivity and coordination of people and resources.
Q: Must I buy the same
number of user licenses as there are users on my office e-mail system?
A:
Yes. WebScheduler is licensed by the
number of defined users to your Infinite InterChange/WebMail server. For
example, you might have a 200 user license of WebMail, but only have 100 users
actually defined, then you will need to buy a 100 user license. You need to
make sure that the defined users to WebMail does not exceed your license for
WebScheduler.
Q: What makes this
product a significant improvement on existing offerings?
A:
Cost of ownership, acquisition,
and implementation. WebScheduler is much easier to use, compatible with more
diverse systems and protocols, and does not require intensive training or
maintenance.
Q: What operating systems
does WebScheduler run under?
A:
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT/2000 on the client. Any Network Operating System
that allows a directory structure to be shared.
Q: Does WebScheduler
support address books?
A:
Yes. WebScheduler supports your Infinite
InterChange/WebMail public and personal address books.
