Network Monitor Central Console

Enables Network Administrators to Monitor Network

Sessionwall Central (Sessionwall Central/Remote Console) Support enables network administrators to monitor and control one or more stations running Sessionwall. This is achieved by installing Sessionwall agents on different segments of the network (local and remote), which are controlled by a central station from which the administrator can view and generate reports based on the consolidated information collected by the agents.

The Central/Remote Console software serves as the basis for several services. The Central/Remote Console:

bulletAllows a single administrator to monitor and manage multiple and local remote Sessionwall’s. Using this capability, the administrator sees alerts on the console and has the ability to remotely control specific Sessionwall stations as if they were local.
bulletAllows a system administrator to manage a remote Sessionwall station.
bulletAllows a remote authorized user to review the specific information they are authorized to see.

The Central/Remote Console Support includes the following components:

Sessionwall Central

The component which operates on Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT. The Central component receives, sorts and displays alerts generated by one or more remote Sessionwall agents and allows the administrator to connect to and operate the Sessionwall agent.

Sessionwall Agents

Agents are components which operate on stations running Sessionwall R4 software. The SW3 Central Agent includes an agent application that operates in the background, receives alerts from Sessionwall, sends these alerts to SW3 Central via a remote control utility that authorizes remote access from SW3 Central, and enables SW3 Central remote control.

System specifications/requirements:

bulletAll components can operate on Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT/2000 systems.
bulletThe communication can be via TCP or UDP protocol.
bulletCentral–Agent connection relationships can be: one to many (one Agent can be connected to several Centrals and vice versa) or many to many (several Centrals can be connected to several Agents and vice versa).
bulletIn order to establish a Central–Agent connection (i.e. to receive Sessionwall alert messages on the Central from the Agent), the Central user has to be defined on both the Agent and the Central with the same password. In order to connect one Central to many Agents, the Central user has to be defined with the same password on all the Agents.
bulletThe Central can view the alert messages from several connected Agents simultaneously.
bulletThe Central can connect to and have remote access and control of several Agents' desktops at the same time.
bulletThe Agent’s desktop can be remotely accessed only by one Central at a time.
bulletIf the Agent has a user logged on locally, its desktop cannot be accessed remotely at that moment.
