The SMF gateway converts messages from Standard Message Format
(SMF), the
format used by ExpressIT!, DaVinci eMAIL, Beyond Mail, Office Logic, and other
applications, to SMTP. To use the InterChange SMF gateway, you must define a gateway to be
used by your messaging software and then configure the actual SMF gateway within
Interchange.
Multiple Gateways
Each Infinite InterChange email gateway must use a
unique domain name. For
example, if your network uses the SMF gateway and the cc:Mail gateway, you must assign
different domain names to those gateways. One email gateway may use the Infinite
InterChange host name as its domain name.
Authorized Users
The SMF gateway maintains a list of authorized users.
By default, Infinite InterChange authorizes users automatically when they send a message
to the SMF gateway. However, you may restrict which users can send messages through the
SMF gateway.
Virus Scan
The SMF gateway lets you use a command-line operated
virus scanner, such as
McAfees VirusScan, to scan inbound and outbound attachments for viruses.
