OV400 Gateway is a member of the Net400 family of AS/400 email products. It
allows users of any AS/400 OfficeVision/400 (or JustMail/400) email system to seamlessly
exchange email with a variety of other email systems. On their own, OfficeVision/400 and
its companion product, JustMail/400, do not have the architecture for effective AS/400
email integration. They do not support file attachments, free form addressing, spool file
distribution and more. Net400 effectively overcomes these limitations with this gateway
product designed specifically to work with OfficeVision/400 (or any other AS/400 based
SNADS compliant email system). OV400 Gateway significantly enhances the value of the AS/400 email system to its users
as well as the corporation.
Addressing Structures
Corporations need to exchange email between different
systems. However, many systems allow a more descriptive addressing structure than is
permitted on AS/400 systems. OV400 Gateway maps between the address structure of the AS/400 and external systems such as
LAN email, the Internet and more.
Automatic Enrollment
Administration of addressing structures when several
diverse systems are involved can be a time consuming task. OV400 Gateway simplifies this task by
automatically enrolling a remote user in the SNADS directory the first time email is
received.
Spool File Distribution
OV400 Gateway includes
the ability to send spool files to external email addresses located on LANs, the Internet
or on email networks through menu selections or through APIs. In addition, a special
"forms burster" API allows spool files to be generated and each page sent to
individual recipients if appropriate. Users can define the file name, including suffix, so
that appropriate viewers can be automatically launched to view the spool file on PCS.
File Attach
OV400 Gateway allows
multiple files to be attached to email documents. AS/400 database files can be converted
to ASCII Comma Delimited Format (CSV) and PC files can be easily routed to LAN or PC
users.
SNADS Networks
OV400 Gateway can be a
gateway for one or many SNADS based email systems including IBM mainframes and other
AS/400s.
